Blooming Sourdough: Banana, Honey & Berry Bloom Toast

Jess Skipper

My Blooming Sourdough.  Otherwise known as: "I had a banana, some sourdough and absolutely no intention of following a recipe." 😂

What you'll need

  • 2–6 slices of sourdough (depending on how hungry you are 😉)
  • Butter (be generous) or a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil
  • Tasman Sea Salt
  • Tasmanian Leatherwood Honey
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 tsp BONEnBLOOM Berry Bloom
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Method to my madness

  1. Butter your sourdough generously. This is not the time for restraint.
  2. Sprinkle over a pinch of sea salt and drizzle with Leatherwood honey like you're trying to impress the bees.
  3. Bake until golden, crispy and giving main-character energy. Personally, I like mine bordering on "Is that burnt?"… but let's just call it rustic.
  4. While the sourdough is doing its thing, mash your banana.
  5. Stir through the cinnamon and Berry Bloom until everything is beautifully combined.
  6. Spoon the banana mixture onto your warm sourdough and admire your masterpiece for approximately three seconds before eating it.

What's Berry Bloom?

It's our Tasmanian Blackcurrant Skin powder - made from the skins of Tasmanian-grown blackcurrants, naturally rich in antioxidants and vitamin C. One teaspoon stirred through pretty much anything is the easiest way to add wholefood nourishment to your morning.

Why I love it 🤎

Because it's naturally packed with potassium, vitamin C, antioxidants and whole-food goodness… but mostly because it tastes like a warm hug and takes less effort than folding laundry.

Fair warning… making enough for one person is almost impossible. 🍞😂

If you make this, tag @bonenbloom so I can see your creations.

Enjoy, beautiful people.

Love, Jess x
